Our Doctors As an eye surgeon, Dr. Petelin is uniquely qualified. He received his medical degree from the University of Arizona and completed his Ophthalmology training at Emory University. Even more importantly, Dr. Petelin is one of only a handful of vision correction specialists fellowship trained in Cornea and Refractive surgery.
Dr. Shorb specializes in retinal diseases and general ophthalmology. He has had a practice in the Phoenix area for more than 35 years. Dr. Shorb received an A.B. degree from Hamilton College, an M.D. degree from Jefferson Medical University. He interned in the U.S. Army at Fitzsimons General Hospital in Denver and was a flight surgeon for the Army before entering the ophthalmology residency at Letterman General Hospital (U.S. Army) in San Francisco. He was then staff ophthalmologist at U.S. Army Headquarters Europe in Heidelberg, Germany, for three years, attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel in 1973. He then completed a retinal fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, in 1974-75. Dr. Shorb is a life member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has been a TOP DOC in Phoenix Magazine many times and was the top ophthalmologist in a magazine in 2009. |
